Thrive Pathway Activity 19

Speak Words of Encouragement to Others

Definitions:

Webster defines the word encourage as “to inspire with courage, spirit, or hope; to spur on; to give help." When you encourage the people around you spiritually, you in turn motivate yourself, help change the world, make or deepen relationships with true Christian friends, change the way people react to criticism, and begin to see those around you differently.

When you speak words of encouragement to others, you live out the commandment to love others as you want to be loved.

Scripture:

Hebrews 10:24
“Spur one another to love and good deeds.”

Details:

  • Remember that encouraging someone and agreeing with everything they do or say is not the same.
  • Push those around you to deepen their relationship with Christ. Begin with someone in your Grow
  • Begin encouraging your non-Christian friends to seek after God.
