Thrive Pathway Activity 23

Read Your Bible in an Organized Way

Definitions:

It is good to participate in settings where the Bible is being taught by others: Sunday morning worship services, Grow Groups, RightNow Media, etc. However, as you spiritually grow, it is important to take on your own biblical learning for yourself.

Scripture:

Ephesians 6:17
"Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

Isaiah 40:8
"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever."

Details:

  • Pray about which book of the Bible should be your starting place.
  • Read a passage.
  • Use the following SPECKA acrostic to organize your thoughts on what you have read.

« Is there a Sin to confess or to avoid?
« Is there a Promise from God to claim?
« Is there an Example to follow or a bad example to avoid?
« Is there a Command from God to obey?
« Is there Knowledge about who God is or how He behaves?
« Is the passage something you can Apply to your life? If so, how?
