Reread the Scripture from Worship Service
Definitions:
Do you love to travel? When you go to a place for
the first time do you take lots of pictures? Have you sometimes been so
focused on not missing something that you actually miss something?
Coming back to a place you have already been allows you to slow down and
see it in a new way - to see things you might have missed.
Rereading scripture works the same way. When you reread a scripture
used in a teaching from Sunday morning you get to slow down, and that
opens the door for the Holy Spirit to reveal new and fresh insight. It
also allows you to discover new questions to explore. It even allows you
to see once again something you saw earlier but rushed past. The Bible
is like a well that is so deep you cannot plumb its depths. Reading and
then rereading is a part of that process. Take some time to reread the
scripture for Sunday’s lesson. As you do, God’s word will become an
important part of your relationship with God.
Scripture:
Joshua 1:8
“This book of the law shall not
depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so
that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it.
For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have
success.”
