Invite Non-Believers to Church

Definitions:

The church was never designed to be an exclusive club. In fact, God’s design for the church is the exact opposite of a closed group. God wants churches to be public witnesses of His work in the world. There are some who feel that churches are only for dedicated followers of Christ.  Yet, the Bible, in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, gives God’s people the task of inviting others to see God at work.

Scripture:

Acts 2:46-47 (NIV)
"Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

Psalm 66:5 (NIV)
"Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind!"

Details:

Inviting friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family members to church worship services or other activities is an easy way to let them see God at work.

Letting people know that you will not pressure them to “convert” will make them feel more comfortable about attending. Let them know they will not have to do anything embarrassing or weird; they can just observe what is going on. Making sure you talk with them afterwards about their experience is important.
